"Excellent B & B near Galway"
Joan is an excellent host and made our family feel quite welcome! She goes out of her way to be accommodating and has wonderful advice on nearby sights for travellers - Galway, Cliffs of Moher, Aran Islands and Connemara. Her home is warm, welcoming and spotless. Teresa and Joan serve a wonderful "full Irish breakfast!" Joan recommended Donnelly's down the street - excellent food and friendly staff. All in all outstanding value! We hope to return!

"Best in the West . . ."
After many years of having passable but uninspiring accommodation in Galway for race week, we finally and very fortunately came across upon Joan and Freeport House 5 years ago. Our bookings are now taken a year in advance - and we cannot rate Joan, Freeport and in particular the lovely Teresa Joyce, highly enough for their warmth and hospitality on every visit. Freeport is a unique experience - with lots of fun and laughter thrown in for good measure - the facilities are beyond comfortable, spotlessly clean and with a marvellous breakfast. Dont hesitate to book yourself a room at Freeport - you will not be disappointed.

"BRYAN & MARY D HOME FROM HOME"
Joan welcomes you like a long lost friend and does everything in her power to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as she can.She even took our clothes into her kitchen and dried them after we got drenched while out walking. Teresa, who helps serve breakfast , is also very friendly and helpful. Freeport House is very close to good restaurants/pubs Galway City and the sea. The bedrooms are spotless with nice little touches and there is a lovely sittingroom to relax in, if you want to take it easy for a few hours. The house is situated in a nice quiet area with a car park to the rear. We have stayed with Joan many ,many times down through the years and hopefully, we will be back with her again next year.

"Wedding stayover"
My husband and I, our two adult children and their husband and wife stayed in Freeport House for two nights and really enjoyed our stay. We were in Galway for a family wedding so did not spend much time in the house. The owner Joan was very friendly and rooms were spotless. The bathroom was sparkling and the shower excellent and beds very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and crockery of a high standard and also spotless. The views from the back of the house are not to be missed.

"Lovely B&B; Brilliant Breakfast"
Stayed at Freeport House in Barna village, Galway; a lovely place to stay. Wonderful view of Galway Bay from the back of the accommodation; plenty of free car parking and walking distance to the excellent Donnellys Bar & Restaurant and the 12 Hotel. Good location to explore Galway and Conemara. Lovely staff and one of the best breakfasts you will ever get!

"Excellent 2 Day Stay"
My boyfriend (now fiance) and I, stayed here for two nights to begin our trip in Ireland. Joan was an amazing host and the rooms were fantastic. We had a beautiful view and the location was great. We were looking for somewhere outside of Galway but within walking distance of several restaurants, this was the perfect location. We would definitely recommend the Freeport House.

"The best B&B in Ireland!!!"
Five of us, all friends from Belfast and South Carolina, USa, were on our way to Limerick and since it was getting late stopped at Freeport House B&B; in Barna. Luck was with us: 1) three rooms available and 2) getting the best B&B; in all of Ireland. Joan is not only a wonderful hostess, but her sense of humor and friendliness will not be forgotten. The breakfast was super delicious and with her "twin", made our venture memorable. Thank you, Joan, for the perfect night in Barna. We also found that the price per person was the most reasonable com-pared to other B&Bs.; The home was immaculate and had everything we needed. The location was near restaurants and beautiful views. I guess what I liked best was Joan... she's a trip!!!

"A very nice stay in a tipical Irish B&B"
We want to thank Freeport House for the very nice stay we have had. Breakfast was good a lot, rooms were large and they have a wonderful Irish look. Barna is a very typical and romantic irish port, suitable for visiting both Connemara and Burren regions and aran islands, it is also very near to Galway city

"Great stay"
We stayed one night at the Freeport House this august, and it was a great place to stay! The owner, Joan, met us with a warm smile and kind hospitality. The rooms (one with a beatiful seaview) were very nice; spotless and the size was ok. Joan had several recommendations for a good place for dinner, we chose Donnely's which was very good. The breakfast the next morning was fresh and homemade - a wonderful start of the day. All in all, we were very pleased with our stay at the Freeport House and can strongly recommend it.

In late June, 2012, we spent 2 days here. A wonderful experience, a warm welcome, restful room, fine breakfast, great help on travel plans. This was our base to see aran Islands and Galway. Joan Codyre is a delight.
